Just got back from cinema and seen Coraline. I knew it was directed by Henry Selick who was director of the nightmare before christmas, this increased my hope for the film even though it was not originally created by Tim Burton (whos illustrations and film concepts ive admired for a long time).
I certainly was not disappointed!! Possibly the most beautiful animation Ive ever seen!. But what fascinated me the most was the originality of the story. The whole idea of Coraline being sent into a world where all the things she despises in the real world are vanished and all her selfish wishes are granted (roast chicken/cakes on the table for tea and what she calls respect from her parents) and finally her realising of how good her life actually is in the real world when she has experienced 'perfection'.
Id go on and on, but do not want to spoil the plot anymore than I have done! :-)
